Timberline Golf Club

07 July 2016

Since starting golf just a little over a year ago, I decided to list my goals on a piece of paper which I gave to Coach Jaclyn to hold for me.  One of those goals was to shoot in the 70's before the end of the year.  I knew this was a stretch, but I was determined to give it all I had.  CLICK HERE for tournament details

I also knew Timberline was a pretty difficult course with a lot of hazards including water.  During my school year at Providence, we played at Timberline.  I think I shot a 93.  So I knew this was a tough course.  However, I am not the same golfer I was during the school year.  With all the hard work, I had improved dramatically.  I played a practice round at Timberline the day before the tournament.  I shot a 36 on the front nine and a 36 on the back nine.  On tournament day I shot a 40 on the front nine but bounced back with a 35 on the back nine for a score of 75.  YEA!  I had accomplished one of my most important goals before the end of the year.  I was very excited. There is no going back.

After the tournament, I had the opportunity to spend 2 days with one of the best PGA swing coaches in the USA.  Hank Johnson of HANK JOHNSON SCHOOL of GOLF.  Mr. Hank worked with me for 2 days.  I learned a lot and have now put my sights on staying in the low 70's and occasionally going LOW!  (60's)  I know this will be difficult, but I am willing to do whatever it takes to be the best golfer I can be.  Thanks for following me.

Thank you Mr. Dave, Mr. Hank and Mr. Zach of "The Hank Johnson School of Golf" for helping me!  See you soon.
